Hydroxyapatite - Fluoroapatite

The mineral hydroxyapatite, along with collagen, is a main part of bone material and makes up the mineral part of tooth enamel.

The hydroxide ions of the mineral can be partially replaced by fluoride. The thus formed fluoroapatite is more resistant to acid and reduces the chance of cavities.
