Zinc Finger

"Zinc finger" is a term used to describe a number of zinc-containing peptides, which are important for the transfer of genetic information.

They have typical "finger form," in which the coordination of (Zn2+) to histidine and cysteine residues in the peptide chain form it into ribbons.

Zinc fingers are often found in reproductive processes and are usually coupled to DNA.
