99m-Tc Instant Kits
99mTc has a half-life of just 6 h. This makes it adventageous for nuclear medical clinics to prepare 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals themselves from so-called "instant kits." These kits contain all substances needed for the production of the preparation, such as ligands, reducing agents and stabilizers. These kits are, of course, lyophilized, pyrogen-free and sterile. Before injection, a 99mTcO4- solution from a commercial 99Mo/99mTc isotope generator is added.
